Terms of service
Last updated July 2026
These terms cover the embral application and the embral cloud service. Using either means you accept them.
The service
The free application runs on your computer and needs no account. embral cloud is a paid subscription adding metered cloud transcription and cloud summaries. Plan limits (such as monthly transcription hours) are shown at purchase; when a limit is reached, cloud features pause until the next period and the app continues working locally.
Your responsibilities
- Recording conversations is regulated in many places. You are responsible for recording lawfully, including getting consent where required.
- Keep your sign-in codes and devices to yourself.
- No abuse: no attempts to exceed metering, resell access, disrupt the service, or use it for unlawful content.
Fair use and availability
We may apply reasonable technical limits (such as concurrent streams) to keep the service healthy, and may suspend accounts that abuse it. The cloud service is provided as-is; we aim for high availability but do not guarantee it — the application is built to keep working locally when the cloud is unreachable.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email to account holders before they take effect.
